  • What is a Barefoot Trim?
The basic premise of the barefoot trim involves following the natural line of the hoof. You take off excess wall growth underneath the hoof and rasp the flares off from the top of the hoof.
When you do this, the foot naturally falls into it's correct angle without a lot of cutting and trimming and it does not draw blood or make the horse lame.
With regular trims the white line tightens up, the sole becomes thicker and more concaved, the toe begins to develop a strong callus, and the hoof begins to make the changes necessary to regain full hoof mechanism and return the feet to their full potential.
Diet and Environment also play a huge part in this process.
